The NHS at sixty!

This year saw the 60th anniversary of Labour's proudest achievement, the NHS

Young Labour Campaign for votes at 16:

The latest meeting of the National Policy Forum in Warwick saw members voting to recommend voting at 16 to be part of the next Labour manifesto. Congratulations to all the Youth Reps on the NPF who managed to get this passed.

Steph Peacock, Youth Rep on the NEC called it evidence of Labour 'listening to young people and their youth organizations'. The Campaign will now go on to Annual Conference where it must be ratified. Vote For A Change Campaign:

Politicians have let us down. They've abused their power for too long - it's time for a change.

The only way we're going to make politicans understand their responsibilities to the people they represent is to make them more accountable at elections. It's time to kick out the antiquated way of doing things that has allowed them to get away with so much and bring in a new style of elections where every single vote counts.

The majority of the people in this country don't have a politican who represents them. It's time for that to change.

Support our efforts to get the Government to announce a referendum on electoral reform before the next General Election. We need to restore faith in our politicians and our politics, otherwise it all goes downhill from here.

Let's Go Fourth Campaign:

We proudly support the Go Fourth campaign for a Labour fourth term. We support the campaign's aims of proudly defending the record of the Labour government since 1997,   actively supporting the government in promoting policies that will build on our successes, encouraging greater participation in the Labour Party and highlighting the damage a Conservative government will do to Britain. Fairness Not Fear Campaign:

Britain has a vibrant and diverse society.

A society with people from all cultures and backgrounds. In a strong society we all stand up for each other, the BNP do not believe this.

We are all work together to make sure the BNP do not grab anymore seats in any UK politics.

To support the campaign Stop the BNP  check out fairness not fear and we will let you know about the best ways to help stop the BNP.

The Minimum Wage:

The minimum wage is one of the proudest achievements of this Labour government. It’s shocking to think that ten years ago workers would often be paid as little as £1 or £2 an hour and this blatant exploitation would be fully within the law.

Today we have a minimum wage - but despite this progress, low pay still exists and young workers are unfairly discriminated against.

Adults aged over 22 now have to be paid at least £5.35 per hour, but 18 to 21 year olds get a lower rate (£4.45) and under-18s get just £3.30.

It’s now time we ended age discrimination in the minimum wage and gave the same level of protection to all workers, no matter how old or young they are.
